Parkhotel Bellevue – family runned since 1902

Currently run by the fourth generation, Parkhotel Bellevue is a family hotel that proudly looks back on a tradition spanning more than 100 years. This tradition is now preserved in many details while the walls carrying it appear brand new.

1901-1902 – Hotel built and first opened by Johann Fuchs, a trained baker and confectioner

1902 – Addition east of the hotel approved to accommodate a dining room and veranda extension 

1903 – Permit issued to use the addition and to operate the confectionery 

1910 – Property entered into the land registry, small garden hut built, license issued to commercially offer Fiaker carriage services 

1912 – Villa train station purchased, in lieu of building a planned additional building 

1914-1918 – War years: hotel damaged in 1917 by mortar fire from the nearby Dolomite Front 

1920-1922 – Damage assessed and application for compensation filed, allowing main building to be rebuilt 

1924 – Compensation approved and funded in advance by the Consorzio della Provincia e dei Comuni Trentini – auxiliary rear building rebuilt and corner tower embellished 

1925 – Entered as ‘Hotel Bellevue, confectionery and hired carriage trade’ in the company register with the Chamber of Commerce in Bolzano 

1935-1941 – Mortgage for the repair of war damage redeemed 

1949 – Inn room built 

1970 – Tavern with night bar and dance club built in basement 

1976 – Roof of main building replaced and building remodelled 

1979 – Roof of auxiliary building replaced and building restructured 

1984 – Central section remodelled and re-roofed 

1990 – Elevator installed 

1998 – Swimming pool and sauna area built 

2002 – Hotel Bellevue expanded with face of hotel renovated 

2009 – Hotel kitchen remodelled 

2010 – Reception area remodelled

2013 – Wellness zone expanded 

2014 – Park Hotel Bellevue further expanded and several rooms renovated

Besides all of the chronological information it should be mentioned that from the very beginning the Fuchs family have dedicated themselves and contributed effort to developing Toblach as a holiday destination. An example is Hans Fuchs’ role as co-initiator of the first ski-lift facilities at Ratsberg and Rienz and as co-founder of the Toblach hockey club. He continues to sit on the board of the Toblach Tourist Association to this day.
